Vikramaditya
Vikramaditya (विक्रमादित्य) was a legendary Ordinal century BCE Emperor of Ujjain, India, famed for his enlightenment, valour and magnanimity. डॉ. धर्मचंद्र विद्यालंकार[8] ने लिखा हैप्रथम विक्रमादित्यसहसांक संभवत: पंजाब के वारिक् या औलख जैसे ही वंश का वीर व्यक्ति था. उसी ने विक्रमादित्य का वरणीय विरुद्ध अपनी शक विजय के उपरांत उपलब्ध किया था. उसी ने उसी उपलक्ष्य में विक्रमी संवत का भी पावन प्रचलन किया था. बल्कि मालवगण का ही वीर वंशज शासक होने के कारण उसने आरंभ में उसका नामकरण भी मालव-संवत ही किया था. भगवती पुरोहित जैसे पुरातत्ववेत्ता विद्वान् भी हमारे उपर्युक्त अभिमत से सहमत हैं.
